The Firm
Local understanding. International vision.
ITIBAR & AVOCATS ASSOCIÉS is an independent business law firm established in Moroni. The firm advises and represents companies, investors and institutions in their activities, operations and projects in the Comoros as well as in matters with an international dimension.
Our approach
A legal practice grounded in business reality.
Our role is not only to provide a legal answer. We seek to understand the transaction, the project, the sector and the objectives of each client in order to propose solutions that are legally sound and operationally adapted.
This approach leads the firm to intervene both upstream of strategic decisions and in their implementation: structuring investments, negotiation and contract drafting, regulatory support, relations with authorities, securing projects, risk prevention and dispute resolution.
Based in the Comoros, IAA has direct knowledge of the legal, economic and institutional environment in which its clients operate. This local understanding is combined with a practice of OHADA law and the ability to work within operations meeting international standards.
Understand
Understand the client's activity, constraints and objectives before defining the legal response.
Anticipate
Identify legal, regulatory and contractual risks early enough to allow the client to decide and act.
Secure
Structure operations, contracts and projects so as to preserve the client's interests and reduce risk exposure.
Defend
When a dispute cannot be avoided, build a rigorous litigation strategy before the competent courts and tribunals.
International dimension
Comoros. Africa.
International.
Operations carried out in the Comoros are increasingly part of investment, financing, construction, transport and trade chains that extend beyond national borders.
IAA supports international groups operating in the Comoros, foreign investors wishing to establish there, and Comorian actors engaged in cross-border operations.
The firm also works alongside legal counsel and other international parties when the needs of an operation require local expertise in Comorian or OHADA law.
